Norwalk Youth Football and Cheerleading is a non-profit 501(c)3, 100% volunteer organization based in Norwalk CT and open to all of our neighbors in the surrounding towns.
We are a member of American Youth Football and Cheerleading and play within the Candlewood Valley Football and Cheer League.
Our program is grade based and age protected, providing the young athlete the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals in a safe and structured environment and apply this knowledge and technique to the game of football, the way it is played at the high school level. Players learn to play the positions they are physically capable of playing, and the positions they will likely play as they matriculate into high school. No other local area organization offers this type of program. Real football. Real football positions. Real football rules. Every single young athlete in grades 2-8 that fall within our age restriction is welcome and eligible to play.
American Youth Cheerleading is second to none, allowing participants aged 7-15 to not only cheer for their designated footballs teams, but to compete at the local, regional and national levels in a structured environment tailored to the skill level of each squad.
The Candlewood Valley Football league is comprised of 16 towns with nearly 100 football teams and counting. Although a few teams hail from neighboring Westchester and Southern Dutchess counties, we also compete against such towns as Ridgefield, Weston, Easton and Redding, and Bethel.
Last year over 300 athletes participated in Norwalk Youth Football and Cheer. There is a modest registration fee that helps cover equipment and fee associated with the game; referees, EMT’s on the field etc. Fundraising events and opportunities are in place in an attempt to generate additional funds. It should be noted that no child is turned away due to the lack of funds.
